The International Finance Corporation (IFC) Nigeria hosted 15 outstanding students from Gbara Community Secondary School at their Ikoyi office to a Career Day and Job Shadow exercise in November. This was a follow-up to the Volunteer Day exercise earlier in the year when members of IFC staff spent a day at the school, implementing the JA Be Entrepreneurial program, where they had identified a few outstanding students to invite back to IFC for further mentoring. Beginning with the Country Director, Mrs. Eme Essien, members of IFC staff took turns sharing their career journeys with the students, each highlighting key decisions they made to advance their careers and life lessons learned along the way. The day ended on a positive note with the students, who had been a little shell-shocked by the IFC office at the beginning, committing to work hard to achieve their academic goals so that they can become future IFC customers as they run large multinational businesses!
