Determined to inspire entrepreneurship among youth as a means to solving the out-of-school youth and unemployment issues in Nigeria, Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation has expanded its partnership with Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) to take entrepreneurship education to younger secondary school students through the “My Company My Region” initiative. Targeted at school children in JSS2 and JSS3, the program is aimed at helping students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in their regions by educating them on how to convert opportunities into successful businesses, with the hope that more of them will stay in school beyond the required basic education system to do the Company Program in their SS2.
JAN staff trained ACT Foundation staff including CEO, Osayi Alile, on December 11, 2018 ahead of their pilot in-class delivery which took place at Kuramo College and Victoria Island Secondary Schools on December 12 and 13. Feedback from the pilot will be incorporated into the program which will officially kick off in secondary schools across the Southwest states in January 2019.
We are extremely grateful to ACT Foundation for sponsoring this and our other two entrepreneurial programs in secondary schools across the Southwest. Thank you for building future leaders with us.
