Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) joins other stakeholders and development partners across the globe to commemorate World Savings Day 2019.
In line with its commitment to delivering on its vision as saving aligns with the financial literacy core pillar, JAN kicked off the event with a #SaveWithJAN school tour by visiting schools around Lagos with some of its partners and contributors such as Omilola Oshikoya and members of the Lagos chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated amongst others who will be speaking to over 500 secondary school students about the importance of Financial Literacy and responsibility. Some of the schools that were visited include Redeemers international Secondary School Maryland, Liberty Bells Badore, Mate Comprehensive College Ketu, Ocean Crest School Lekki and Gbara Community Secondary School Jakande.
The #SaveWithJAN initiative allows JAN through this partnerships with these organizations and individuals to inform primary school students and youths about financial responsibility, the idea of saving their money in a bank and other financial tools to ensure they become leaders of their own lives thereby keeping to its commitment of reaching 1,000,000 young people by the end of 2019. The initiative was proudly supported by Citibank and Rite Foods.
