- Four Regional Winners Emerge
Board Member Sigma Pensions partnered with JA Nigeria to challenge members of the National Youth Service Corps through JA Nigeria signature program Ready. Set. Boss. 2.0 ending with a Career Fair hosted in different regions for participants who completed all the stages of the program.
The program which was targeted at empowering National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members by exposing them to essential skills necessary to succeed in a corporate and entrepreneurial world, took place in Lagos, Oyo, Enugu and Abuja. It kicked off with a two-day seminar after which the participants taught JA Be Entrepreneurial program in schools which qualified them to participate in the project plan competition.
At the end of the competition, one winner emerged from each region winning the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira each. Gloria Okeke from Abuja won with a project titled ‘Preventing Cervical Cancer through HPV Vaccination’; Samuel Egbedeyi won in Enugu State with a project plan on ‘Rehabilitation of Water System through Rain Water Harvesting in Awha Imezi, Enugu’; Deborah Obasi who worked on ‘Renovation of Sick Bay at Eva Adelaja Junior Girls Grammar School, Bariga’ won in Lagos State; while Lateefat Arogundade who advocated for quality education in St. Andrew’s Basic School Araoje won in Oyo State.
