VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: ILORI FAITH OLUWAFIFEKEMI

Ilori Faith Oluwafifekemi, an entrepreneur, volunteers with JA Nigeria to teach the JA Company Program in Abuja. She believes that volunteering with JA Nigeria gives her the opportunity to impact her society while fulfilling her burning desire to make a difference.

What was your motivation for volunteering with JA Nigeria?

After my secondary school, I have always wanted a platform to impact my society. Then I learned about JAN and I opted in. So my motivation was a burning desire to make a change. And JAN presents itself as a viable platform for that.

How would you describe your volunteering experience with JA Nigeria so far?

It has been an amazing experience. I was able to prepare young minds for the knowledge that they will need to thrive in the future. I also taught them how to navigate the 21st-century marketplace.

The experiences I had with the students will forever be etched in my memory. Also, I’m glad I volunteered with JAN because it has given me the opportunity to meet and network with optimistic people whose mental attitudes are mind-blowing and inspiring.

What has been the highlight of your volunteering with JA Nigeria?

The significant event during the course of volunteering was teaching the students Digital Entrepreneurship during the Virtual Company Program. I still relish the moments of those online classes.

Why is it important for one to volunteer?

From my personal experience, I can say that volunteering is an act of championing change in society and contributing to the process of nation-building.

It is important to volunteer because by doing so, you’re building yourself up for the future.
