What was your motivation for volunteering with JA Nigeria?
My deep longing to be involved in JA Nigeria programs dates back to high school. I was a participant in the JA Nigeria projects then and that fueled my desire to sign up as a volunteer. And since then, well-designed projects curriculum and delivery style of our instructors have kept my commitment as a volunteer with JA Nigeria.
How would you describe your volunteering experience with JA Nigeria so far?
Honestly, amazingly awesome are the words that suffice to describe my experience. I mean, is it the rare opportunity to pass knowledge to secondary school students I will say stands out or the invaluable practical knowledge shared by the instructors. Not to mention the outstanding values and mission of JA Nigeria. In a nutshell, it’s been an awesome experience so far.
What has been the highlight of your volunteering with JA Nigeria
The highlight of my volunteering so far is being an instructor for Junior Achievement Company Program for students at Seed of Life College, Ibadan which has afforded me the opportunity of teaching my students basic business concepts.
Why is it important to volunteer?
I’m of the firm opinion that no one should be like a dead sea that receives and never gives back. Therefore, everyone should maximize volunteering, as an essential platform for sharing their wealth of knowledge, experience and beautiful ideas in the overall interest of making the world a better place.
On top of that, it offers you the skillsets for social impact, career development and entrepreneurship.
You meet new people that share the same interests as you. Also, you derive fulfillment from doing what you are really passionate about.
