The Executive Director, Junior Achievement Nigeria, Foluso Gbadamosi has been named Global Impact and Non-Profit Award winner of the 2023 Women Changing the World Awards where she bagged Gold and Silver awards in each category respectively.
The Women Changing the World Awards presented by Oprah Winfrey’s all-time favourite guest, Dr. Tererai Trent, celebrates and recognizes women achieving outstanding successes in areas such as sustainability, humanitarian work, leadership, advocacy, tech, product development, education, health and innovation. The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who are leading the way in making the world a better place for all and inspiring other women to answer the call to take action.
Dr. Trent explains, “These exceptional women are here to awaken hearts, give permission to recapture dreams and inspire the women of the world to come together to forge a brighter path for all. The rising of women is the awakening of everybody.”
Foluso Gbadamosi said she was excited to win gold in her category in the 2023 Women Changing the World Awards. “It feels really good to be recognized for these awards. It’s been years of hard work, encouragement, sacrifices, patience and fruitfulness. Being a global leader in the non-profit and business space has given me the opportunity to impact the lives of children, youths, women and people/organizations in underserved communities. This award reminds me that my impact around the globe is felt and needed in the world we live in. As the Executive Director of Junior Achievement Nigeria and to promote solidified impact to men and women around the globe, communities are important and I am glad that this award welcomes me to a bigger network of women passionate about social impact.”
The women in my category are spot-on inspiration to me and seeing that we share a common goal makes it easier to provoke one another in good works for our world at large.
Dr. Trent’s vision for these awards is to empower women everywhere to reclaim their sacred dreams and call on women across the globe to unite and pave the way toward a better future for all.
It can be challenging to create change in the world and Foluso gives this advice for others thinking about following their calling to make a difference.
”It’s cheap to excuse one’s desire to make a change for your comfort zone especially when challenges show up but what then happens to your call and the lives that ought to be transformed through your works? Against all odds, answer that call and keep going!”
Foluso Gbadamosi is proud of her achievements, in the last 12 months she has led the Junior Achievement Nigeria team to impact thousands of young people, invested heavily in digitization and hybrid mode of programs implementations to suit the tech-forward 21st-century youths, as well as launched a book titled “Unleash your Superpowers” to effectively help people around the world put to use their talents and gifts for the works they have been called to do. She attributes these successes to God, her family, mentors and the JA Nigeria team for their continuous dedication and support.
She is committed to continuing to make an impact through her work and her vision for the future is to see that young people and women around the world have the resources needed for them to live a thriving life and do all they are called to do.
