Assistant Manager (Programs delivery & Strategy)

The Assistant Manager supports the Programs Lead by driving mid-level stakeholder engagement and ensuring cross-program alignment. This role translates high-level strategy into actionable regional plans and manages partnerships with state-level MDAs and corporate resource providers.
Objective

- This role translates high-level strategy into actionable regional plans and manages partnerships with state- level MDAs and corporate resource providers.
- State-Level Engagement: Lead advocacy at State Ministries of Education, State Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, SUBEB, and technical boards to secure implementation approvals.
- Corporate Partners: Working closely with the partnership and development lead, managing relationships with middle management at corporate partner organizations (e.g., Bank CSR leads, Foundation Program Officers).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Business Management, or a related Social Science field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, CAMP or Prince 2) is a significant advantage
Experience
- Experience: 4–5 years of experience in program management within the NGO sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or mid-management role.
- Technical Skills: Advanced grant writing and technical proposal development.
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian educational policy landscape at the state level (SUBEB, Ministry of Education).
- Strategic thinking and ability to manage multi-million Naira program budgets.
- Soft Skills: High-level negotiation, public speaking, and the ability to influence government decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Coordination: Oversee the operational workflow of all JAN programs (Entrepreneurship, Digital Literacy, Financial Literacy, Work Readiness) to ensure timelines are met.
- Regional Supervision: Manage regional clusters and sub-grantees, ensuring MoUs are executed and KPIs are tracked.
- Proposal Development: Assist the Programs and Partnership Lead in technical writing for grant applications and sustainability reports.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of program materials and budget tracking at the state and regional levels.
- Experience implementing programs in the education sector (primary, secondary & tertiary).
Qualifications
