Senior Program Officer (Quality & Operations)

The Senior Program Officer manages mid-to-lower level stakeholders and focuses on the quality of program delivery. This role ensures that the JA standard is maintained across all sites through rigorous monitoring and volunteer management.

Objective

Key Stakeholder Focus (Mid-to-Lower Level):

  • Institutional Partners: Primary liaison for School Principals, NGO implementation partners, and Zonal and/or District Education Officers.
  • Volunteer Networks: High-level management of corporate volunteer groups and professional associations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sociology, Economics, or related fields.
  • Experience: 3–4 years of active experience in field coordination, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), or educational program delivery.

Experience

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in M&E frameworks and data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, or specialized NGO data software).
    • Experience in “Training of Trainers” (ToT) methodologies.
    • Strong report writing skills with an eye for impact metrics and storytelling.
  • Experience implementing programs in the education sector (primary, secondary & tertiary).
  • Soft Skills: Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage diverse volunteer teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct field audits and virtual check-ins to ensure program fidelity and safeguarding compliance.
  • Volunteer Strategy: Design recruitment and retention frameworks for the national volunteer pool; coordinate the transition of alumni students and the JAN 10 MAG campaign.
  • Reporting: Consolidate field data from Program Officers into high-quality donor reports and success stories.
  • Capacity Building: Lead Training of Trainers (ToT) for school teachers and regional coordinators.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sociology, Economics, or related fields.
  • Experience: 3–4 years of active experience in field coordination, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), or educational program delivery.
